Making healthcare better - for the people who use it, and for those dedicating their lives to delivering it- has been the through line in my twisty career. I'm thrilled for this next twist as an Advisor to Vive Collective, where I’ll lean on my product and operations leadership experience in start up, scale up, and public companies to support the Vive platform and companies they are building and investing in.
Since meeting the small but mighty team of women leading Vive Collective I've been endlessly impressed by the expertise and vast network they bring to investing in healthcare technology companies, and their partnership with Clearlake Capital. As our industry watches the continued fallout of runaway valuations and macroeconomic pressure, a rigorous, rational team with deep respect and empathy for builders like Vive Collective is exactly who founders need to help navigate this dynamic environment.
In addition to supporting Vive Collective overall, my personal focus is in three developing thesis areas:
New tech enabled care delivery and business models for subspecialty care, especially where there is a perfect storm of inaccessibility and uneven quality for patients, and a major cost center for payers.
Solutions that support older adults navigating their changing health needs on their terms, not the social constructs they are often put in. The Longevity Economy is a great read on this topic.
Tools and care delivery models that support "multiplayer mode", helping care teams, patients, and families to more seamlessly work together. This has become the norm in workplace tools outside of healthcare, with the recent massive acquisition of Figma by Adobe, Inc showing how new entrants who get this right can zoom past incumbent enterprise tools.
Beyond these areas, I'm always looking for the dream team mix of craftspeople, operators, and clinical experts with a relentless focus on understanding and solving the problems of their clients and users.
